Gramps

Over thirty years ago, I took a few pictures of the house where which my grandfather (E. Walter Lingberg) was born and raised as well as of the barn that he built with his own hands. The land was homesteaded by his dad (my great-grandfather), Olaf Lingberg, in 1869.  My friend, Alan, insisted that I get Gramp’s stories on tape.  It sounded like a lot of work and time.  However, Alan was not going to be satisfied until I recorded Gramp’s story.  If Gramps were still alive today, he’d be 127 years old.  My grand-daughter, Edie, will be four years old next January.  Of course, she never met Gramps--but, though "Gramps" she will.  I'm glad I took the time to tell his story.

Here’s Gramp's story.
